Teeth Whitening

How Whitening Works:

Teeth whitening has come a long way in recent years with advancements in dental technology, creating whitening products that are more cost effective, efficient and cause less sensitivity. Modern teeth whitening is based upon the active bleaching agents hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide, which break down and quickly disassociate into peroxide byproducts known as “bleaching factors” that lighten teeth. The bleaching factors work by oxygenation and chemical conversion. These two modes of action cause aggressive chemical and physical disintegration of large color molecules (from e.g. coffee and wine) to small colorless or white molecules, resulting in a bright smile.

In-office whitening:

This one hour procedure is a chemically activated whitening treatment that is safe, effective, and offers a brighter and whiter smile after just one appointment in our Houston Dental office.

Take-home whitening:

Whitening trays and whitening gel allow you to transform your smile at home and maintain it over time. The custom-made bleaching trays are loaded with whitening gel and worn for thirty minutes to one hour a day for two weeks.

Kor Whitening:

KöR® Whitening can be used on any patient, but is particularly beneficial for difficult cases such as tetracycline staining.
